For 2006 AAIP will conduct two seminars—one on January 14, 2006 and one on April 22, 2006. Both seminars will be held at the Sheraton Phoenix Airport Hotel in the Arizona Room, located at 1600 South 52nd Street, Tempe, Arizona. The January seminar will be 5 hours, for 5 CE credits, with one of those hours on Ethics. The April seminar will be 4 hours and offer 4 CE credits. The target audience is certified legal document reparers and AAIP members.
JANUARY 14, 2006
Domestic Relations Update - This class will be two hours and will be presented by attorneys and/or court personnel to be announced. The objective of this class is to provide CLDPs with information regarding changes to the Domestic Relations laws and court rules. 2 CE Credits
Tax Regulations In 2006 - This class will be presented by Keith Jones from H & R Block, and will cover tax code changes and the effect of the changes on estate plans and corporations. The objective of the class is to inform CLDP’s of changes in the tax code that may have an effect on estate plans and corporation formations prepared for past and future clients. 2 CE Credits
Ethics - This class will be one hour, and will be presented by Allen Merrill. The class will cover UPL and the Code of Conduct for CLDPs. The objective of this session is to assist CLDPs in understanding what services and information they can provide to their clients under the Code. 1 CE Credit.
APRIL 22, 2006
Immigration Issues - This class will be two hours and be presented by Randy Tunc, Esq. The session will cover the forms and processes necessary to obtain legal alien status in the US. The objective of this class is to inform CLDPs about the immigration process. 2 CE Credits
Estate Planning - This class will be conducted by attorneys and/or financial advisors to be announced. The class will cover preparation of trusts, wills, and powers of attorney, and discuss the various options for avoiding probate. New regulations proposed and/or adopted for the Probate Code will also be discussed. The objective of this session is to provide CLDPs with information needed to properly assist clients in understanding the purpose of the various types of estate planning documents, and how to prepare documents for their clients meeting current regulations. 2 CE Credits.
